We think that the longevity of the show came from its ability to adapt to the many changes in pop culture while still keeping the that warmth and friend-next-door vibe that made people tune in week after week.
Rewatching it now also comes with an interesting realization about how much content has changed. Many of the things audiences enjoy today through short-form videos and digital creators already existed in programs like ETCETERA, just in a different format and pace. In many ways, it helped shape the kind of engaging, accessible content that audiences continue to gravitate toward across newer platforms.
